Calling for: “A Few
Good Men…And Women”!
Voices of Canton, Inc. invite any interested male or female singers in
the greater Canton community to visit with us at one of
our weekly rehearsals. Come, listen, learn and
participate for an evening of introduction and find out
who we are!
Rehearsals are held on Tuesday
evenings at 7:00 pm in Cable Recital Hall at the
Cultural Center for the Arts, 1001 North Market Avenue
in Canton. A repertory Company, the concert singers of
Voices of Canton rehearse on Tuesday evenings
throughout the year.
Approximately 60 volunteer
members, from varied professions, make up this excellent
chorus. Dr. Samuel Gordon, director of choral studies
at the University of Akron is the artistic director. A
rigorous warm up session and two hour rehearsal under
his superb direction leaves you feeling as though you
have experienced a “private vocal lesson…free!”
In order to become a member of
the concert singers, a short, private audition is
required. It consists of a prepared selection of your
choosing to be sung for Dr. Gordon. An accompanist is
provided for you at no cost. Please call Maxine
